Book Exchange Policies
- The library learning commons operates on a 5 day schedule for students Pre-K - 3rd Grade. All age groups are 45 minute classes.
- The library is a shared public space so we practice respectful, responsible, and safe behaviors with community members.
- Book Exchange occurs weekly on days when the Library Media Specialist or Library Aide is in the building. Book exchange guidelines are as follows:
- Students in Pre-K are allowed to borrow one book per week that will remain in their classrooms.
- Kindergarten students also borrow one book a week and are encouraged to keep it in the classroom for the first few months and then encouraged to take them home to enjoy with their families and return them a week later to school.
- 1st graders borrow one book per week and are encouraged to take it home to share with their families at the onset of school.
- Students in 2nd grade are allowed to borrow 2 books per week to take home.
- While 3rd graders are able to borrow up to 3 books per week to enjoy independently or with their families.
- Students in Pre-K are allowed to borrow one book per week that will remain in their classrooms.
- In order for our students to practice responsibility and maintain our collection, we ask that books be returned before a new book selection is made.
