Empire State Information Fluency Continuum
The Solvay Union Free School District Library Learning Commons Program has adopted The Empire State Information Fluency Continuum created by NYC Department of Education. This document provides a K-12 framework for the library curriculum and instructional aspects of our library program. The library curriculum is based on the skills and strategies that are essential for students to independently access and aquire knowledge. The Empire State Information Fluency Continuum (IFC) is endorsed by the School Library Systems Association of New York State and aligned to the Common Core Learning Standards. While the IFC is not all-ecompassing, it allows us to assess our students on a variety of skills embedded within larger projects. The complete document and supplementary material can be accessed at:
